One afternoon while visiting the library as I often do, I went over to the children’s section to look for a dictionary. I talked briefly with the librarian on where to find them.Our conversation was overheard by Micky (supervisor) who then asked – when I told her I was working on a book project; ” Would you like to present your book to our audience during story time the following saturday?” And that’s how I landed my first reading for

“Patrice Grows A Garden”

Readings are my way of connecting with the audience or to at least establish one. The experience was nerving and humbling. I felt weird and awkward but that’s what being a writer is all about.
